Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome! Welcome to my first Video Game post, a true passion of mine. This list delves deep into the annals of recorded “blow $h!t up” history and brings you my Top 5 Console FPS games EVER!
Without further ado, here they are!
.
#5 – Duke Nukem 64
Platform:
Nintendo 64
Developer:
Apogee Software
Why it’s here:
Duke was a badass as a 2-D character. Toss in state of the art 3-d rendering, and a flushable toilet? Fahgeddaboudit!
.
#4 – Perfect Dark
Platform:
N64
Developer:
Rare Software
Why it’s here:
Two Words: Joanna Dark.
.
#3 – Halo (1,2, and 3 only)
Platform:
Xbox / Xbox 360
Developer:
Bungie
Why it’s here:
Tremendously immersive gameplay, crazy alien toasting weapons, and the fact that Halo was originally being developed for Apple, but became the most popular Microsoft Xbox launch title. Teehee! Take that Jobs and Wozniak!
.
#2 – Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Platform:
Xbox 360, Playstation 3
Developer:
Infinity Ward
Why it’s here:
Call of Duty was a phenomenally popular FPS franchise under the development of Treyarch Studios, but the whole “World War 2″ thing was getting a little old. Then Inifnity Ward swooped in and flipped the CoD series on its ass by taking it into this century. Single player is amazing, but the meat and potatoes of CoD4 is without doubt it’s superbly crafted Multi player game modes. Released in November 2007, Call of Duty 4 remains in the top 3 most played Xbox Live games. That’s gotta say somethin’!

GOLDENEYE 007
Platform:
N64
Developer:
Rare Software (again)
Why it’s here:
While Goldeneye 007 didn’t revolutionize First Person Shooters, it certainly came very close to perfecting them. The game, based on the 1995 feature film of the same name, very closely followed the plot of the film. With a wide assortment of Bond-esque weapons and gadgets, there was an endless amount of variety to keep players engaged through each of the missions. Similarly to Goldeneye’s predecessor on this list though, arguably the best part of this game was it’s Multi-player modes. Some of my fondest video gaming memories take place in a 4 player Death Match playing as 006 Alec Trevelyan. This game will forever hold a special place in the video game section of my heart. It’s just a damn shame that Microsoft and Nintendo couldn’t play nice with each other to bring Goldeneye to the Xbox Live Arcade.
Well, that’s it for now. Send me some feedback, let me know what your faves are. Thanks for reading!

Bell Mobility HSPA+
It’s old news now that Bell and Telus are launching an HSPA+ Cellular network in Canada. It’s also old news that both companies will be getting the iPhone 3G/3Gs. What’s not so much old news is that, in addition to the iPhone, Bell Mobility will have no less than nine, that’s right NINE HSPA capable devices available when the network launches on November 4th.
So lets see here, Big Red launched HSPA already…in the GTA only. Big Red has the iPhone 3Gs already…but where can you buy one? Thanks, Captain Backorder! Big Red has some HSPA capable devices…most of which are made by HTC, which tragically don’t have the greatest track record when it comes to actually phone quality.
I can’t legally tell you exactly what phones will be launching on Nov. 4th, but I will tell you that when I Phone my friends to tell them how much of an Impact the Canadian wireless industry is making, I just hope I am Bold enough to check the levels of Xenon gas…..
Get it?

Play D’oh!
G’day mates, welcome to episode 2 of The SnowStorm!
So I volunteered to make a batch of homemade play dough for my daughter’s school, and they decided to call in the favour. First, let me say that if you have kids, you need to donate to their school. If you don’t have money, donate volunteer time. If you don’t have time, donate something!!! Not only is it an investment in your child’s education, it’s a great opportunity to do something together!
Anyway, we get home from Thanksgiving dinner at Nanny and Papa’s house, stuffed to the brim with Turkey and Pumpkin Pie (great job on the pie, my love ;-D), and then I remember that Our play dough is due tomorrow (now today)!
Do I panic?
Do I run around like a turkey with its head cut off?
No. I simply pulled out the recipe, calmly gathered the ingredients – of which there are very few – and told my lil lady that it was time to make some dough!
Long story short, we had a blast! Dough turned out great, and the best part is that you don’t have to worry about the younger kids eating it! And not in a Simpsons, “Daaad, it says non toxic…” kind of sense.
Here’s the recipe:
In a big pot, mix together:
- 3 Cups white flour
- 3/4 Cup salt
- 6 Tbsp Cream of Tartar
- Get creative! Dry Kool Aid mix, or spices to add some flavour…I mean scent
In a separate bowl, combine:
- 3 Cups water
- 3 Tbsp Oil (whatever you have on hand is fine)
- as much or as little food colouring as you want
Add the bowl stuff to the pot stuff, mix it up, cook on stove top over medium heat for 7-10 min stirring often. It looks like a terrible mess, and gets pretty tough to stir but it cleans up really easily. Knead the dough on a floured surface, toss it in a big Ziploc freezer bag, and pop it in the cupboard for the next play time!
Super easy, and super fun. The batch we made was festive Red Cinnamon and Spice. Man oh man did it smell good.

Greeting and Salutations!
Well hello and welcome to the very first edition of The SnowStorm!
I am Snowman v2.0, and I’m new to blogging but I’ve been using several Web 2.0 services for quite some time (Twitter, Facebook, Bebo, etc.)
I’m a regular dude, a bit of a geek, and I hope to reflect who I am in this blog, and with any luck, share some tips and tricks with the world along the way.
I work for a major Canadian Telecommunications provider, which at this time shall remain nameless, however from time to time I will be posting articles related to the Canadian Cellular industry, and rest assured, any info comes on good authority, unless otherwise stated.
I’m also an avid X-Boxer, an amateur cook, and a husband and father of 2. Anything related to any of these aforementioned topics is fair game around here!
I hope you enjoy my future posts, please leave me some comments, drop me a line if you have any questions or comments for me. Thanks everyone, welcome to the show!
